A1 Free Sound Effects - Over 800 free sound effects in various categories.
GRSites.com - Claims to be the largest collection of free sound effects on the internet. Now with 1,980 high quality sound effects for use in web pages and games.

http://www.dvd-makers.com/public/department37.cfm - This site has new free sound effects every month.
http://www.jushhome.com/SoundBunker/default.asp - padawanNick's sound fx archive.
http://www.sound-effects-library.com/ - Not free but has an enormous collection including all 165 CDs of the BBC Sound Effects Library.
http://www.sounddogs.com/ - Not free but they have a phenomenal library of SFX, searchable with a database, and you can check out sounds with a very low res download. If you like what you hear, you can download as many or as few sounds as you need, at CD resolution for a nominal fee.
