How on earth would i do this effect?

How would i make it so that say i put an explosion,
then make it so im gushing blood, without actually
useing blood? How would i do that special effects
wise? Or as 2nd recon puts it, it probably would look
like cr**......Or should i just use fake blood?

If you got enough time i suppose you could play around with fluid dynamics in 3d software maybe even real flow... but it may and may not look good depends on how much work you put into it

Using the method insert_coin mentioned, you can make excellent effects. And as also mentioned, you'll have to work to make them look good.

Check out the CG feature on the director's cut of Battle Royale for an example.
