Set Makeing

Post by Famous »

I've heard alot about how to make sets and all but I'm gonna make a minature becuase they look really real.
The only thing is when i shoot a close up in the forest one the trees and busshes wont move and it will look fake.
I am not up to doing a full size set of a forest with a castle but i need to know is it worth doing?.
I do warhammer and there is alot of skill into makeing a set.

Just make the model, and if your trees and bushes are flexible enough, a simple low-powerd fan should give them a little motion.

A box fan some distance away from it would give it a little bit more distribution in the air current. Just see what you like.

That must have been a blow. When I was a kid he was real and still is.

Don't forget to have some scissors and cow-gum handy, strips of tape, and papier-mache paste are good as well!

I'd work on concept designs first. From there, try to figure out what materials would work best and how large you would need your minature to be so you can do some detailing without having to paint things on with a single hair or something.

If you're doing minature models for space-craft, the blister packs that you get tablets (pills) in are really great, just glue everything together, spray everything silver, and add some flashing lights!

Empty tubes are good to for things like manifold sections and rocket boosters.

If you feel courageous, you can go out and purchase tons of cheap model sets, dump them all on a table, and put them together however you want! That was how they made the starships for the original Star Wars trilogy.

Definately start out with sketches and drawings of want you want to make, first. Then you can build without having to struggle remembering how you want what and where. Figure it out on paper first!
