How do u make THIS special effect : CHALLENGE AHEAD

ok, im trying to put a script together, and was wondering if its possible to even do this one yet....with adobe after-effects or premier... On the movie x-men 2: x-men united...the mutant known as "kirk" the blue guy. When he teleports...HOW do u make that effect...if u can, please atleast give me a start, (which i doubt)...but i dunno if anyone knows yet how to make it.

isnt that just blue smoke? If it is im pretty sure not positive you can render it in affter effects

If you're asking how to teleport it's not terribly hard. You need the video and a background plate. With the video of the actor on top, lower it's transparency so it looks like he disappears. For the smoke, use some stock footage and change the color balance to make it purple.

That effect was done with way sophisticated particle systems rendering hundreds of thousands more particles than my computer can handle and my computer is brand new! however teleporting is simple when you film a backplate then the footage and just cut to the backplate or mask if there is more than one actor... see if you can come up with a way besides a puff of smoke for your character to dissapear.
