Dracula FX

Post by caytooth »

I'm looking for ideas for SFX for a stageplay version of "Dracula". It will require a bat to fly into the audience from a window at the rear of the set. Any ideas?

there is a thing that Toys R' Us sells that mimicks a flying bird. I't a plastic "bird" that has clear plastic celophane wings and a machanism that makes the "wings" move up and down. The thing really flyes!!! Paint it black and attach a straigth guide line to the stage. Since the context of the play are vampires, everyone into the public will asociate a strange "flying thing" with a bat.

if u angle a strobe light at it, and activate it in short bursts that look like lightening you'll get a good eerie effect
