WOO HOO! I'm excited! Finally! haha, I've had a burner for a while but coulnd't use it because it was defective, even though the company refuses to believe so... So I went to Circuit City the other day and bought an external DVD writer. The exact model and brand is : HP dvd movie writer dc4000 Cost about 300 bucks, but let me tell you.. this thing works great. VERY easy to figure out and the included software lets you create custom menus , submenus for special features, chapters, background music, intro videos, and even animate the thumbnails. I almost bought a sony external for about 40 dollars less, but this HP has external inputs right on the side. A USB port for putting digital camera pictures right on dvd, and analogue rca jacks ( red white and yellow ) for analogue movie capture for a camcorder or vcr, AND an S video input. Good stuff right there!! Im running XP home ( on a custom built machine ) and it worked right off the bat.
So I burned my first tonight. Worked great.. totally flawless. Burned the whole thing in a couple minutes too
I believe it can burn a whole DVD FULL in max 8 minutes.
I can't wait to start shoot my movie and demo reel and put it all together.
Burned my first DVD today...
