Anyone heard this? I recently got it and just love it, James Newton Howard is a genius. Perfect music for this film. I love the violin work. What do you guys think?
If you saw Signs and Unbreakable and thought this was going to be scary, you're being stupid, if that's what that was about.
And I love just about everything James Newton Howard does. He did some especially cool tunes for Falling Down (a Michael Douglas movie that was made like ten years ago)
I just saw The Village again, it was even better the second time. I love this film, music, cinematography, story, acting, etc... Couldn't of been any better.
Love was the story! The characteration development was due to the love! If there was no love you wouldn't care about the characters at all, and if you don't care. There's no point in watching the film.

I may sue you for having false... interpretations!

I wish they'd come out with a decent scary as hell movie sometime soon, because all the "scary" movies within the last few years have turned out to be cr**. I don't think I've seen a movie in the past 5 or 6 years that has really scared the hell out of me.
M. Night isn't about scaring people to death and throwing inordinate amounts of blood on the camera, he's about creating suspense. As much as I hated the Village, it did a fine job of that. There's all kinds of times where you wonder what is going to occur next. If he wanted to scare you, he'd make a movie about what would happen if Bush were re-elected. He just wants to elicit emotions of suspense, that's his style.
