Explosion Stock Footage

Post by WeirdEars »

Does anyone know an explosion stock footage, etc. site?

I'm looking to expand my collection...

PS: I've tried Detonation Films. Their stuff's COOL! But the site is slow...

There are a couple of explosions on this site in the Special FX section...but other than that and Detonation Films, I don't know of any other resource for explosion footage.

You could make your own, just explode something in front of a green screen or you could make some in 3D Studio Max

You could use a black-screen, green-screen, or blue-screen and have a chunk of flour w/ a powerful fire-cracker in it. BOOM! Smoke everywhere it's awesome!

Yeah, CG explosions look good, but nothing beats the real thing! Go Fire!

Not that you'll listen, but why not do some of it real? Or if you can't becuase its indoors ect, make your own stock footage! If you need help on how to blow stuff up saftley, ask grant! That way you'll have your own custom stock fooatge that can mix with the footage all the much better. If you can though, just film it live, it looks so much better.

And if that fails make some digital stuff, you can use 3d Max, that has some pyro effects.
