Marine In MOLLE In Iraq! (Lots of More Pictures!)
So... I posted a Marine in Iraq a few days ago, but that was before we made our order for some MOLLE gear. We got all of our stuff yesterday and decided to go get some photos. Here's a preview (I have to leave soon) so check it, let me know what you think. (By the way, we currently have enough of this to equip two guys and are buying more for three guys.)
Yes.
Scroll down for loads of more pictures!

How much money is he wearing in that picture? (IE: How much did that one kit cost?)

He's probably wearing about $200 worth of stuff is my guess. All of the MOLLE gear is from Cheaperthandirt.com

Here are all of the other pictures I intended to upload earlier.
Chris, in a light get up, good for running around.
Some of the equipment with a booney, yes I know there's not a clip in the pistol.
Again, showing off the pistol holster.
Chris in prone.
A good close up shot.
Showing the scenary.
Both Chris and Kyle, yes, they're a little close.
Standing around, we've got two more helmets at home and two new marpat covers being sewn.
Kind of a cool picture, again, the lighter pack.
And finally, Epsilon... we took your advice by studying up on some Marine weapon technique manuals, figuring out the proper way to hold a weapon and not looking clueless. How do you like our results?
Thanks for making sure we're on top of things. Haha, just kidding.
All comments are appreciated!
Edit:
We plan to shoot this at a place called Saltair near the Great Salt Lake in Utah. It's about 20 minutes from where we live and, as you can see, is very deserty.

Outstanding job! I see you've been watching Jarhead.Gyro wrote:And finally, Epsilon... we took your advice by studying up on some Marine weapon technique manuals, figuring out the proper way to hold a weapon and not looking clueless. How do you like our results?
I like the kit. Especially the body armor spoon. Keep up the good work. If you want a really nice piece, invest in a pair of Wiley-X glasses. Those are the most awsome shades out there. My brother and I have a couple pairs and you can even strap them around the helmet! Did I mention bullet-proof too...
You might want to get your actors some towels and simple gloves. Sandstorms can be harsh. Also, it's common practice to sew your blood type on your helmet band, or like in the Army, on your chest. Some troops also tend to write their names on the back of their helmets. Little things make it all the more fun.

You have no idea how much I want to road trip to the southwest and spend a few weeks in the desert making a war movie.
Two things the scenery out here is suited for - World War II and in some cases, Vietnam. Not enough money for either, I'm afraid.
Look into PFC guns, Gyro. It'll really round out the whole thing very nicely. But move fast on the M4's and AK47's, as they're no longer in production and in high demand...

How in the world could you being doing all this Iraqi war Marine stuff and not see Jarhead?! I think you would greatly enjoy it. A nice realistic taste of modern troops. Quite different from traditional sense of WW2 soldiers or even Vietnam War troops. It even feels more real to life than Black Hawk Down, personally.
