How do you creat an explosion special effect

what is stock footage? i was gonna go next to realistic. hell i do stunts for funny and im only 16 i go through a wall and then i did a 30 foot drop out of a window once for a movie i waas shooting.

stock footage is already made footage such as explosions you can take the back round out of and put in your movie. www.detonationfilms.com has a lot on the free stuff section.

I dont usually reccommend stock footage to practical... Use the 'ol lever method!

i agree stock footage does not look very good. but if you decide to use stock footage then you can composite it in using premiere or after effects. if you want to use the lever method like nazisentry said then you can check out browncowstudio's website for more details. if you have any questions pm me.

i would check the legalities of the issue where you live lol. All the ones I do are done in secret I also prefer real over stock....but if you cannot then you cannot. Adds more to think about also including storage, safety, fire issues etc
