Unless your camera mic is REALLY bad, I'd be suprised if an $11 mic could give you much better sound while shooting. There is another way to put this rig to use, though, so please read on.... First, if you're using a miniDV camcorder, you're best bet is to connect a mic to that to record the sound. ...

>> slow motion camcorder for cheap? Doesn't exist. Cheap cameras are mass produced for the masses, which means 30i or 25i. There are some hi-cost cameras with faster frame rates, but nothing close to what you're asking for here. A CCD can't even be read that quickly. Such a machine would have to be ...

Need a little more info... This place, is it in a strip mall or it's own building? Are there steel gurders overhead (maybe above a drop ceiling)? If so, that's gonna be you're best bet for where to attached a wire vs. some kind of frame. Check you're local home improvement store's hardware section f...

New (FREE!) FX Plugins and Tutorial for Media Studio Pro
For those of you out there that use Ulead Media Studio Pro, I just wanted to let you know that I've released a new set of plugins and a tutorial for improving bluescreen/greenscreen composits. Honestly, the plugins are pretty basic, but hopfully, they have just enough funtionality to be useful. Spec...

Actually, I think that VIDEO studio lacks bluescreen compositing. This is really just intended as a consumer camcorder->DVD video editing solution. Ulead MEDIA Studio Pro is a more professional package which includes very powerful overlay and compositing functions, including bluescreen/greenscreen c...

Copy your video from camera to VHS. Set up the VCR to play to the TV via Coax (Antena) cable. Have the cable in loose on the VCR. Aim the camera at your TV. Hit record on your camera, play the VHS copy and jiggle (that's the technical term, of course) the coax connector while the video plays back. T...

BTW: Virtually all video (esp. consumer ones) cameras shoot interlaced and video editors EDIT interlaced unless you specify otherwise. The reason is that TV's are interlaced displays.

Cool. Glad it helped.
Note: I said Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, GREEN (reordered) not CMYK(K=black) which is for printing.
Note the color pattern on page two of these specs on one model of Sony, NTSC Color video CCD (pdf).
This is not the typical arrangement, but it is used occationally.

First, I totally agree with Jerry that it is really personal choice and you should try-before-you-buy to get a feel for a few programs. That said, personally I switched FROM Premiere TO Media Studio Pro because I found it to be more powerful and useful for in the DV editing arena. There's no questio...

The point.
The point is that there are MANY factors involved in aquiring a good video image that happen well before digitization and nearly all these things are significantly better in a $2k-$3k pro-sumer camera vs. everyday consumer camera. Larger lenses allow more light to reach the CCDs. Higher quality opti...

If it's not asking too much, I'd love to see (well, hear) the hovercraft sequence sounds in here. If you do generate more sounds, feel free to let me know....

My Canon ZR25 is now a good 2 years old (maybe more) and it has never let me down. The ZR's are great cameras for their price. The one issue that I've heard about the newer ones is that the camera mic actually pics up the motor sound if your scene is too quite. Good idea to use the money you saved t...

The actual simulated camera movement is usually done with w 3D program like 3dMax. There used to be a free program called Icarus that would calculate the proper camera animation, but that has gone commercial and sells for a few thousand dollars now. You may still find a copy somewhere on PTP network...
