Unless your camera mic is REALLY bad, I'd be suprised if an $11 mic could give you much better sound while shooting. There is another way to put this rig to use, though, so please read on.... First, if you're using a miniDV camcorder, you're best bet is to connect a mic to that to record the sound. ...

Yeah, my original screen is designed to be a non-portable install, but the tutorial now includes pictures of a portable version too. The portable one is 8 feet sqaure and is very light, so it can be moved around easily. The "screen" iteself uses less than $2 in material, so if you need to ...

>> slow motion camcorder for cheap? Doesn't exist. Cheap cameras are mass produced for the masses, which means 30i or 25i. There are some hi-cost cameras with faster frame rates, but nothing close to what you're asking for here. A CCD can't even be read that quickly. Such a machine would have to be ...

New (FREE!) FX Plugins and Tutorial for Media Studio Pro

For those of you out there that use Ulead Media Studio Pro, I just wanted to let you know that I've released a new set of plugins and a tutorial for improving bluescreen/greenscreen composits. Honestly, the plugins are pretty basic, but hopfully, they have just enough funtionality to be useful. Spec...

Actually, I think that VIDEO studio lacks bluescreen compositing. This is really just intended as a consumer camcorder->DVD video editing solution. Ulead MEDIA Studio Pro is a more professional package which includes very powerful overlay and compositing functions, including bluescreen/greenscreen c...

It's your movie. Plan ahead. Don't have characters that where both green and blue at the same time.

Copy your video from camera to VHS. Set up the VCR to play to the TV via Coax (Antena) cable. Have the cable in loose on the VCR. Aim the camera at your TV. Hit record on your camera, play the VHS copy and jiggle (that's the technical term, of course) the coax connector while the video plays back. T...

Note: I said Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, GREEN (reordered) not CMYK(K=black) which is for printing.

Note the color pattern on page two of these specs on one model of Sony, NTSC Color video CCD (pdf).

This is not the typical arrangement, but it is used occationally.

First, I totally agree with Jerry that it is really personal choice and you should try-before-you-buy to get a feel for a few programs. The point.

The point is that there are MANY factors involved in aquiring a good video image that happen well before digitization and nearly all these things are significantly better in a $2k-$3k pro-sumer camera vs. everyday consumer camera. Larger lenses allow more light to reach the CCDs. Higher quality opti...

You could probably just record that using the inputs on a miniDV camera.

The actual simulated camera movement is usually done with w 3D program like 3dMax. There used to be a free program called Icarus that would calculate the proper camera animation, but that has gone commercial and sells for a few thousand dollars now. You may still find a copy somewhere on PTP network...
